Establishing a list of top poker players is a difficult and dangerous exercise given the complexity of the discipline: tours, tournaments, variations and different online poker sites. Bluff magazine and ESPN have decided to tackle the task to establish a monthly ranking they dubbed “The Nutz”. The jury was composed of 7 experts, including three members of ESPN in the person of Andrew Feldman, Gary Wise and Bernard Lee, the editor in chief of Bluff Magazine, Lance Bradley, one of its editors Michael Friedman, Dan Cypra from Poker News Daily, and the reporter Court Harrington.



All styles of poker have been taken into account, live or online, tournament or cash game. For the month of December ranking, Phil Ivey has won 6 of 7 votes. The jury certainly took into account the good performance of Phil Ivey during the month of November. His seventh place in the WSOP Main Event and his fight against Isildur1 on High Stakes tables spoke in his favor.
